It is noted that Traffic Departments did not deal with the question of park services which it would be unfeasible to hand over into consideration; and that it has been decided to discontinue relief payments altogether, as per Lord Deley's decision.
3. It is also quite conceivable that legitimate interests of the R.C. Church might be affected, as the Bishop suggests, and we are withholding the Ecclesiastical grants to the Anglican Church because they are not considered to be justifiable. The financial burdens on the Journal recipients being alone, paternal guardians of Youth, are significant.
She had scattered charities which would be inflicted by their sudden withdrawal, and for some, it would be a considerable and unforgivable hardship at the same time creating fresh interests of a similar nature.
4. As regards laying the future administration of the R.C. Church for schools and Hospital Chaplaincies (this seems sensible), it was decided on 19/9/70. It was noted in GR1172/63 that the consent of the Anglican Church should in future be laid for much of the administration, although the principle of doing so was, I believe, agreed to. Meanwhile, however, having adopted the principle of no lessening of religious quality, it is unfair that the R.C. Church should audit the dis-establishment of the Anglican Church before receiving a fair remuneration for their services.
But, in determining a fair remuneration, we must consider the case not only of the future Anglican Church but also of other Church bodies who may submit claims on this account.
